Mason FISH Food Bank Art-a-Thon

Why are artists invading the Proctor Farmers' Market? To support our local food bank!

On July 25th a host of artists from the Proctor Art Gallery will be setting up their easels at the Farmers' Market. Their mission: to raise funds for the Mason FISH Food Bank. The food bank now serves approximately 4,100 individuals each month -- a 42% increase over 2008. Each artist has pledged to spend the whole day at the market, creating works of art that celebrate the glories of fresh, local food.

Art-a-Thon

July 25th

9:00 am to 2:00 pm

Proctor Farmers' Market

N. 27th Street & Proctor

Visit the Market and make a donation there or sign a pledge sheet at Proctor businesses for an individual artist. All money raised will go to the Proctor Farmers' Market Food Bank Fund. Proceeds will be used by the Mason FISH Food Bank to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a discount from the Market for our community members who rely on the food bank. It’s a win/win for all involved!

We have a unique opportunity in the Proctor neighborhood to supply fresh produce to the food bank. Throughout much of the year, local farmers bring their fresh fruits and vegetables to the Proctor Farmers' Market. So, every Saturday, just as the food bank opens its doors, a ready supply of fresh produce is available right on the food bank’s doorstep. With your generosity we can bring some of that freshest of fresh produce into the food bank.

The Food Bank Art-a-thon will take place on July 25th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Proctor Farmers' Market on N. 27th Street and Proctor.
